Questions and Misconceptions:

I'm not flexible is this still for me?
100% yes! This practice is for every body. All ages, all abilities. Carefully read the class description to find the best match. A level I class is a great place to start.
What do I need to bring to class?
The most important items are a mat, and comfortable clothing. Most practitioners also bring a water bottle and a small towel. If you have other props you like to use like blocks, a strap, bolster or blanket bring them too. It's your practice and you should have the things that make you most comfortable.
I have physical limitations, should I still practice?
Absolutely. Let your teacher know ahead of time and always make adjustments that are best for your body. It's not a competition and there is no such thing as doing the pose better than someone else. There are many different variations of the same pose and they are all correct.
What is yoga?
This ancient practice can be traced back to over 5,000 years ago in India. "Yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit word "yuj," which means "to join" or "to unite" and it is comprised of eight different limbs. In western culture the most well-known limbs are the poses (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana). The practice aims to create a harmonious connection between mind, body and spirit.
